1. Who we are

This website belongs to PRIVÉA VILLAS, run by Marcelo Machado, operating in the Algarve, Portugal. For any question about your personal data, write to us at hello@privea.pt.

We are the controller of the personal data collected through this site, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Portuguese Law 58/2019.

2. What data we collect

Data you give us. When you fill in the contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), the dates or location you mention, and the content of your message.

Data collected automatically. If you accept cookies, we collect browsing statistics through Google Analytics: pages visited, time spent, device type, browser language and approximate country. This data does not identify you personally.

Server logs. Our host records IP address and access time for security and operational purposes.

3. Why we use your data

• To answer your enquiry about a booking or property management. Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to a contract.
• To communicate with you about a stay or service you have booked. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
• To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it. Legal basis: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
• To meet legal obligations, including tax and guest registration requirements. Legal basis: legal obligation.

We do not use your data for unsolicited marketing, and we do not sell it to anyone.

4. Who we share it with

Only those necessary for the service to work:

• Netlify — website hosting and contact form delivery.
• Google (Analytics) — usage statistics, only with your consent.
• Service providers involved in your stay (such as housekeeping or maintenance), where strictly necessary.
• Public authorities, where the law requires it.

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area. In those cases, transfers are made under the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

5. How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 12 months.
• Guest and owner data under contract: for the duration of the relationship and any applicable legal periods, including tax (10 years).
• Google Analytics statistics: 14 months.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@privea.pt. We respond within one month.

If you believe your data is not being handled properly, you may lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD) at www.cnpd.pt.

7. Security

This site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, though no system is entirely infallible.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
